What it costs
There are three ways to read here. One is free because nothing is spent, one starts with free credit and then costs a few rupees at a time, and one is free and unlimited because you are paying your own model provider directly.
Prices are in Indian rupees (INR). It is the only currency the checkout offers today.
The demo — free, and nothing to set up
One real paper, already loaded, and 5 questions about it. No account, no key, no card. Nothing you ask is saved, and when the questions are used up the paper is still there to read.
An account, with credit
Sign in with Google and ₹30.00 of credit lands in your balance. No card is asked for, then or ever, unless you choose to top up. You get a library of your own: papers you upload stay there, and the threads you leave in them follow you to any device you sign in on.
When the credit runs out you buy more, one payment at a time. There is no subscription, no auto-renewal and no saved mandate — nothing here can charge you again without you choosing it. Credit sits in your balance until you spend it.

How an answer is priced
You pay for what you use, one answer at a time. There is no monthly fee underneath it and no minimum: nothing is charged for a paper you upload, a thread you leave open, or a week you do not read. What an answer costs depends on how much of the paper it had to read and how long the answer was — a short question about one sentence is cheap, a long thread about a dense methods section less so.
You never have to guess what that comes to. The cost of each answer is printed beside it and your balance is on screen while you read, and that printed figure is what leaves your balance — not any arithmetic on this page.
That figure is worked out from the model's per-token rates and a margin of 30%, converted to rupees at a rate we set. Those are our own working numbers: we have not yet reconciled a month of them against a real invoice or a real settlement, so this page does not claim the amount is any exact multiple of what anyone else charges. What it does promise is that you see the amount, in rupees, before it leaves your balance.
The free credit is capped in total each month across everybody, so on a month when it has all been claimed a new account is told so at sign-in rather than quietly given nothing. The demo and your own key both still work.
Your own API key — free and unlimited
If you have an API key from Anthropic or OpenAI, paste it in and read as much as you like. We bill you nothing at all: the answers are charged to your provider account directly, and no credit, top-up or account is involved. You do not need to sign in.
It is the honest recommendation for anyone who already has a key, and it was the only way this application worked for a long time. Three things about it are worth knowing before you rely on it, because all three are worse discovered later.
- The key is the account. A library opened with a key belongs to that key. The same key on another machine opens the same library, which is what makes it portable with nothing to remember — and it means that if you lose the key you lose access to everything it opened. There is no recovery and no reset, because nothing here knows who you are. Keep the key somewhere you would keep a password.
- Your papers are still stored on this server. A key changes who pays for the answers. It does not make this a program running on your own computer, and it does not keep your reading off our disk.
- The key itself is never stored here. It stays in your browser and is sent with each request. The server keeps only a one-way digest of it, which is what keeps two people's libraries apart, and which cannot be turned back into your key.
The rest of it, plainly
- No free trial that turns into a bill. There is no card on file to turn into one.
- No per-seat pricing, no team plan, no annual contract. One reader, one balance.
- Nothing is charged for reading, uploading or scrolling. You are charged when you ask a question and get an answer, and only then.
- Money is set aside when a question starts and settled when it ends, so you are charged what the answer actually cost and not the worst case. A question that never reaches the model costs nothing. One that breaks off part-way through is charged for the part the provider had already billed us for — that is real money someone spent on your behalf, and saying otherwise would only mean hiding it.
