Privacy
What this service stores about you, who else gets to see it, and how to have it removed. Written to be read rather than to be survived.
What is stored
- Your account. The account identifier Google gives us when you sign in, your email address and your name. We never see and never hold your Google password.
- The papers you upload, and the text extracted from them, so the reader can show them to you again.
- Your threads — the passages you selected, the questions you asked and the answers you were given.
- A record of each answer's cost, so your balance can be explained to you rather than merely asserted.
- Payment records — amount, date and the payment identifier the gateway gives us. Never your card number, which we never receive.
Who else sees it
One of these matters more than the rest, so it is said plainly first.
When you ask a question, the passage you selected and your question are sent to an AI model provider — OpenAI or Anthropic, depending on the model you chose in the reader. At whole-paper scope, the text of the whole paper is sent. There is no way to answer a question about a paper without sending the paper, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest. If that is not acceptable for a particular document, do not upload it.
- Google — sign-in only.
- OpenAI and Anthropic — the text described above.
- Razorpay — payments. They collect your card or UPI details directly; we do not.
- Cloudflare — encrypted backups of the database.
- Hostinger — the server the application runs on.
Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with advertisers. There are none.
Keeping and deleting
Delete a thread or a paper in the reader at any time and it is removed, along with any image cropped from it. To have your whole account and everything in it deleted, email namran.pan@zenovalabs.org from the address you signed in with and we will do it within 30 days.
Two honest caveats. Deleted data can persist in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before those backups age out. And what has already been sent to a model provider is governed by that provider's own retention policy, not ours.
